International Public Sector Audit Forum
Sydney, 12-15 March 2012

From 12 -15 March, 2012 the New South Wales Audit Office hosted the ACAG-CCOLA International Public Sector Audit Forum in Sydney.

The Forum is held every two years, at locations alternating between Australia (organised by ACAG – the Australasian Council of Auditors-General) and Canada (organised by CCOLA - the Canadian Council of Legislative Auditors). This year’s Forum saw attendances from the Australasian region, Canada, Europe and Hong Kong.

The overall objective is to provide an opportunity for Auditors-General and their international equivalents to exchange information and learn from each other by discussing significant issues that impact their work.

The Forum aimed to provide:

  • An understanding of shared challenges faced by public sector auditors
  • Opportunities to draw on good ideas in other regions
  • Ideas for collaboration on shared issues
  • Stronger networks and opportunities for professional exchange

In addition to the discussion and working sessions, there were a number of high-profile speakers including Lee White (CEO of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia), Professor Kerry Jacobs (Professor of Accounting at the Australian National University) and Bernard Salt (demographer and Partner with KPMG).
